Business Ramblings: I Hate Manufacturing!

For those of you who have been following me for a long time will probably notice that im so quiet these days. 

The reason; coz im actually stressed with my manufacturing business; Soapworks.

4 years ago; when i started soapworks; my aim was to have sort of like airbnb for GMP factory for our clients. 

Soaplab has always been the place where people learn how to handcraft their own soaps and cosmetic product, and from there many started their small handmade business; like side income on top of their day job.

But over time; most have this ‘roadblock’ to grow because they require KKM notification, and to get that; one needs GMP factory to do it. 

Now for someone who is earning 1-2k a month frm selling the soaps; this can be mahal to build a gmp factory; and so thats why i thought SoapWorks shd be able to help. 

So i got a GMP factory; and i made it like airbnb where you can rent for a day and get the documentation done. 

Only; after 3 months in operations; someone complained to KKM and since it was a ‘grey area’ (no one rents their factory🫢), we got verbal warning and i had to ‘shut’ that.

But we cant tutup this factory! Coz of the investments and contracts; we stayed on.

Rental keeps on going up, banjir happens, repairs non stop; and being an oem factory; we have to keep on ‘finding’ sale to survive.

So much so i neglected my passion; SoapLab, and teaching people. 

This year; i decided to downsize my GMP factory; so we are moving again; this time to smaller place; a family property; just so that the rents can be kept in min so we can still take in small OEM orders. Nothing fancy. 

I dont know whats going to happen; i dont have a plan. The only thing i know is; im just so absolutely done! The sight of this factory makes me wanna 🤮

The stress; the constant struggle to keep it going, the never ending problems. It just sucked out everything i love!

I just want to go back to SoapLab, to teaching, to actually enjoying what i do; not this never ending cycle of fixing, firefighting!

I dono la; maybe im just being dramatic but have you ever hated something so much that just thinking about it makes you wanna eeee🤯
