Shampoo OEM Malaysia- Cost, MOQ and How To Start Your Own Brand

There are many people wanting to start shampoo/ haircare business in Malaysia and in today's post I'll be sharing with you the cost to manufacture these Shampoo in Malaysia.

when starting you have two option; either to DIY manufacture yourself using existing bases thats available in Malaysia, or you can source out to a GMP factory (like ours).

Cost is very dependent on your budget.

If You Make It Yourself

Cheapest is DIY as there is no manpower cost and premise cost involved. 

In this video i have shared whats the cost to DIY your very own Honey Natural Sulphate Free Shampoo.

As you can see the cost is as listed but do remember that this cost is very depandable on the quantity of ingredients you purchase. 

The cost stated in this video is assuming you are making below 5kg amount (roughly about 20 bottles). 

Of course the cost will be lower when you purchase the ingredients in bulk (above 50pcs)

The ingredients all can be purchased from us. our Min Quantity for this base is 100g.

If You get Factory To Make For You

Now what if you wanted a manufacturer to produce these products for you? 

Now that again depends on your budget. 

In SoapLab we have two options for you; do you want it with KKM Notification? or without? Do you want it to be customized for you or do you want to take our existing base and change the scents and extracts only? all these is very dependable with your budget.

Will You Use Existing Base?

For SoapLab's shampoo base; its a sulphate free base thats made with these ingredients below:

Water, Sodium C14-16 Alpha Olefin Sulfonate, Cocamidopropyl Betaine (From Coconut), Decyl Glucoside (From Coconut), Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Juice (Aloe Vera Extract), Glycerin (Vegetable-Derived), Polyquaternium-10, Guar Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride (Guar Gum, Thickener), Diazolidinyl Urea & Iodopropynyl Butylcarbamate (Germal Plus, Paraben-Free Preservative)

For this; you can customize to add any extracts/ flavors / scents or colors etc.

say you want the simplest existing whatever we have; just like the DIY video above, then the cost will be similar to the DIY video + additional manpower charge and premise rental charge which we usually charge additional between RM 3- RM 5 (depending on your packaging needs- want shrink wrap? want us to stick label; not including packaging). 

for this our min MOQ is 100pcs for without KKM NOTIFICATION , or 500pcs for with KKM NOTIFICATION

Do You Want Custom Formulation?

But if lets say you want to have your own formula; something we make from scratch, then that will require R&D and stability testing. 

Now that can cost a little higher (the test itself will be additional RM 2000) and the moq is 500pcs (no 100pcs as we will have to source the raw materials since we dont keep them for our regular bases).

But since we are making from scratch, we can do it according to your budget. 

So its best to discuss the budget you are looking for with our formulation team so we can customize accordingly.
