Hi all! Today’s recipe is for the Super Berry Yogurt Soap. Yogurt is great for our health. By consumption, it provides us with protein and healthy bacteria which is good for our stomachs. Yogurt is also great for our skin. Yogurt is anti-inflammatory, which helps to reduce inflammation of the skin. This helps to reduce sun burn and acne.
To make the soap add lye flakes, distilled water and yogurt to an oil mix. The oil mix nourished and moisturizes the skin. It also unclogs the pores. Next, add strawberry kiwi and black cherry fragrance oils for a pleasant and fruit infused smell.
Finally, for an exciting dash of colors use purple liquid pigment with synstar red mica.

Ingredients: (makes 6 x 50g soap bars)
- 94.5g Coconut Oil
- 94.5g Olive Oil
- 31.5g Castor Oil
- 94.5g Palm Oil
- 46.5g SoapLab’s Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) Pastilles
- 46.5g Distilled Water
- 31.5g Mixed Berries Yogurt
- 11g Blackcherry Fragrance Oil
- 11g Strawberry Kiwi Fragrance Oil
- 4g Purple Liquid Colour Pigment
- 4g Synstar Red Mica
- 10-20 sprays of Rubbing Alcohol
- 6 cavity silicon mold 50g
Visual Guide How To Make:
- Combine lye flakes with distilled water carefully. Wear gloves & long sleeves to avoid backsplash getting in contact with exposed skin.
- Slowly mix with a whisk until all the lye flakes have dissolved in the distilled water. Solution may become hot, do be cautious.
- To bring lye solution to room temperature, place container in a water bath.
- Measure out your Mixed Berries Yogurt carefully to avoid any spillage and then set aside.
- Separately, pour your Oil Mix into a heat resistant mixing container. Combine room temperature Lye Water with the oil mix.
- Next, use a whisk and mix until it reaches thin trace. Timing of this may vary as the faster you mix, the faster solution will saponify and reaches thin trace.
- Next, add in Blackcherry Fragrance Oil. For this, use a pipette for easy measuring & dispensing
- Next, add in Strawberry Kiwi Fragrance Oil, also do use a pipette for this one.
- Add in Mixed Berries Yogurt into the container and mix everything using a whisk until yogurt & oil are evenly dispersed throughout the soap mixture.
- Next, split soap mixture into 2 equal parts using another container.
- In container 1, add in Synstar Red Mica into the mixture. Mix again until colour is dispersed equally.
- In container 2, add in purple liquid colour pigment. Again, mix until colour is evenly distributed throughout the soap.
- Prepare your silicone mold. Spray with Rubbing Alcohol to sanitise mold. Next, pour in soap mixture from container 1 into each cavity half way full. Pour carefully, soap might still be warm.
- Next, fill cavity with soap mixture from container 2. Again, be careful when doing so.
- Using the tip of a whisk, twist and pull to form soft peaks as well as create a beautiful pattern in between the white & purple soap. Then, leave soap to harden for 24 to 48 hours.
- Once hardened, carefully pull mold away from soap. This will help preserve those desired sharp & crispy edges of the soap.
- Whenever you feel ready, gently push soap out from the mold.
- Soap will be needing 2 - 4 weeks to fully cure before it is used. Keep soap aside till then.

- If applying on face, avoid citrus based or sandalwood essential oil as Malaysian weather will cause your skin to be easily sun burnt. Wear sun protection if add these Essential oils.
