How Much Does It Cost To Make Whipped Soap (Foaming Scrub) in Malaysia?

in this 'how much does it cost' series ill breakdown the cost of raw ingredients if you were to make it yourself so that you know what is the expected cost like and wether its worth it for your business.

so in today's series ill be sharing with you about whipped soap.

now whipped soap is like a semi solid soap that foams like a soap, but its creamy texture instead of runny like regular soap.

to use it, use it exactly like a regular soap; just scoop it, lather with a little water and apply on wet body. it will foam exactly like a regular soaps as well.

our foaming body butter base doesn't contain sis and any preservative; so its suitable for people with sensitive and dry skin as well. 

so how to make it? here's the ingredient list:

1. 880g SoapLab’s Foaming Body Butter Base

2. 120g SoapLab’s Coconut Liquid Soap Base

3. 20g Grapefruit & Lemongrass Fragrance Oil

4. 3g Centella Extract

5. 3g Roselle Extract

   2g Synstar Red Mica

now usually we will put this into a 50g jar or 100g jar.

and the price including packaging will be roughly RM 5.22 for 50g jar, and RM 8.95 for 100g jar.

This is assuming the packaging and labelling price is at RM 1.50 each (that's average). if you were to use a nicer looking jar/ maybe printed jar etc; then the cost will be higher.

What If I Wanted SoapLab to manufacture for me?

For soaplab; we only manufacture in a GMP Factory; and so the cost is slightly higher due to manpower handling, and the documentation that comes with it. 

but safe to say; it will cost additional Rm 3-Rm 5 for each jar due to all these costs.

My advice; if you are just starting out; DIY yourself first. this way you can make small amount first; like 10-20 pieces; see if your market like its and if you can actually sell it; and later on if your business is doing well, come back to manufacture with us.
