How To Make: CNY Inspired Soap: GOLDEN CLEMENTINE CITRUS SOAP

Hi guys, today we’re going to show you how to make a soap inspired by the most famous CNY item. No, not the angpao… but it’s oranges! Just don’t eat it okay.

For this, we also use SoapLab’s melt and pour recipe, where we have already done all the work for you and it can even be a fun activity with kids. Our soap base is made with all the care you would put yourself into making a cold process soap, so don’t worry at all if its good for your skin.

We use Orange Fragrance oil, for the citrusy scent that’s refreshing and sweet. Next we use 2 colors, green mica and sparkle bronze to bring this Clementine soap to life!  Finally we add in Glycerin to ensure this soap doesn’t only cleanse, but encourage your skin to hold in moisture as well.

They make great decoration items anywhere in the house, smell amazing, can be little gifts, and of course used as a delightful soap that even kids will love! Let us know when you try it.

Visual Guide

  1. Using a kitchen knife, cut SoapLab’s Transparent Soap Base into small cubes. The smaller the cube, the faster it will melt.
  2. Place cubes into a heat resistant container and melt at 20 seconds interval. Check on soap constantly to avoid soap from getting burn.
  3. Once melted, using a pipette, add in Orange Fragrance Oil into the melted soap. Then, mix everything with a spatula. Pour out 40g of melted soap into a separate container.

  4. Add premixed Green Mica into the 40g of melted soap. Pour soap into leaf-shape mold. Spray with some rubbing alcohol and leave to dry.

  5. Grab your sphere silicon mold & spray with rubbing alcohol. Place the top part on and secure in place.

  6. Pour in the rest of the melted soap into the mold until each cavity is full. Put aside to harden for 12 hours.

  7. Once ready, pull mold away from soap. Push soap out from the mold gently.

  8. There might be flaps on the side. To remove them, simply use your kitchen knife, run it along the side on the soap to detach the flaps. You should be getting perfect spheres at this point.

  9. Next, place Sparkle Bronze Mica in a bowl. Roll each sphere in the mica.

  10. Next, unmold the leaf shape soap.

  11. Put some melted soap base on the back of the leaf to act as glue and stick the leaf onto the sphere.

  12. Leave for 10 minutes to allow them to set.after 10 minutes, your clementine soap is ready!
