Dull Skin? Try Making This Pisang Berangan (Banana) Face Scrub

Hi all. Today we will be continuing with our Malaysian Herbs Glass Skin Series! If you have missed our last recipes in this series; click here:

  1. Piper Betle (sirih) Facial Cleanser
  2. Tamarind Exfoliating Facial Toner
  3. Tomato Brightening Facial essence
  4. Pegaga (gotu kola) Moisturising Facial Serum
And today; we will be making a face polish using banana (pisang berangan) thats filled with antioxidants and soothing properties:-0

Why Face Polish?

Erm coz the product is made using fine exfoliative ingredient that polishes your dull skin. Thats why i prefer to call it polish instead of scrub (scrub sounds like scrubbing the floor isnt it :0-D)

But jokes aside; a lot of times; when we use products that are for anti aging; they tend to regenrate our skin faster than the usualy rate of 28-35 days. At times; some ingredients like keratolytics would increase the speed of skin regeneration to as fast as 14-21 days.

At this rate; new skins will be generated; and by right the old skin should shed off (yes its not only snakes that shades skin; we do too!).

So anyways; thats what the suppose to be normal thing should be. However; most of the times; the old skin doesnt drop off just like that; and thats why we need to manually help to remove it.
Most of the time; using mechanical way, or the chemical way.

If you use an exfoliating toner; like our tamarind toner; you will be using AHA (glycolic acid) to remove the dead skin(using cotton pad). So thats the ‘chemical’ was of removing dead skin.

But once or twice a week; we should also incorporate the mechanical way of removing these dead skin cells; and so we will hv to manually remove the dead skin; using scrub; or polish:-)

So this is how this product comes into the glass skin series.

As for the extract; im using banana because of its soothing and antioxidant properties.
Its perfect for someone who has flares or redness on their skin. So if you have mildly sensitive skin; this product is perfect for you:-)

The recipe To Make 1kg:
