GMP Factory: Start All Over Again.. Part 1: Application

Many of you mistook my previous ranting post about closing down my current GMP Factory and deciding to not do it again.

Well no guys; im not quiting. Im just dissapointed with the current place; and yes hate manufacturing; but that doesnt mean im completely stoping it. instead; with a little tweak; im sure we can still maintain Soapworks; the GMP company.

So heres the thing; what i hate about manufacturing is the current factory; for the simple reason where it just needs a lot of funds for the upkeep. 

Its a huge set up. 

When i got it; i got it with the intention for AirBNB, and so i needed ‘bigger’ space to accomodate say 2 companies doing manufacturing at one time.

I also had to create it in prime location (klang valley) so its easily assesible to everyone.

All these = higher cost. And as business owner; this is what i dont like🫣

When i couldnt do the ‘airbnb’ concept; i had to try looking for more contract manufacturing clients. Clients that are not a part of SoapLab (coz most of them in soaplab are handmade people who do small quantity and prefer to handcraft themself), clients who are into OEM and dont want to DIY at all; basically a completely different set of customers. New ones.

So when its new customer; its like having a new company; new everything. And since im ‘alone’; i have to split myself into two; choose want to do SoapLab (teaching handmade stuff) or Soapworks ( constant meetings with new clients). 

Since the upkeep of factory is mahal; nak tak nak i have to focus on soapworks. And because we need the funds; we just have to take in everything; even projects i dont feel like doing (not unethical ones but just ‘meh’ ones)

And so slowly i had neglected ‘SoapLab’ tht i love. And thats why i hate manufacturing! 

And so for now; what we decided is; since airbnb concept cant do; why are we ‘keeping’ this factory in klang valley; move la. 

To some place where rent is cheaper, servicing our existing clients, and if got more OEM datang good; tapi tak payah la berkejar2 looking for new ones just sebab nak bayar rent. 

Basically taking in only clients we love to work with; just so that i can refocus on SoapLab. (P/s; our team loves soaplab more too😂😂. Sebab uses our creativity kot) 

So anyway; coz of that; lets start over; day 1: submission of plan for the new place.. wish us luck💪🏼💪🏼
