Beginner Friendly Brightening Soap Using Rice & Papaya

Continuing our Mini DIY Class Series on natural brightening soaps, today we’re making the Rice & Papaya Brightening Soap. 

This soap is packed with gentle exfoliating papaya and brightening rice extract, perfect for daily use.

Papaya has natural enzymes that help remove dead skin cells and make your skin look fresher. 

Rice extract pulak is a traditional Asian ingredient that’s believed to brighten and even out the skin tone naturally. 

We added Banana Kiwi fragrance oil to make it smell fruity and tropical—like holiday vibes masa mandi.

Here’s the recipe:

• 1kg SoapLab’s Handmade Papaya Soap Base (SLS & Paraben-Free)

• 50g Banana Kiwi Fragrance Oil (Phthalate-Free)

• 5g Rice Extract

• 5g Chromium Green Mica

• 5g Neon Yellow Mica

• 20g Glycerin

• Rubbing Alcohol – to spray

• Silicone Mould

Why I Used What I Used:

• Papaya Soap Base – Gentle cleansing and rich in vitamins A, C, and E.

• Rice Extract – Natural brightening, famous dalam Asian skincare.

• Banana Kiwi Fragrance Oil – Fruity fresh smell, buat mandi rasa macam holiday mood.

• Chromium Green & Neon Yellow Mica – Fun tropical colours, skin-safe and naturally derived.

• Glycerin – Pulls moisture to skin, so lepas mandi tak rasa kering.

• Rubbing Alcohol – Spray atas soap to remove bubbles and make the surface cantik.

3. Make sure all your utensils and work surface is clean and sterilise as dirty area and utensils can reduce shelf life of scrub

5. If applying on face, avoid citrus based or sandalwood essential oil as Malaysian weather will cause your skin to be easily sun burnt. Wear sun protection if add these Essential oils.
