Valentines Day Special Soap: Love You To Pieces Agate Soap

Hi ladies, the romance is in the air! Whether or not you’re in a relationship or single, Valentine’s is the perfect day to pamper yourself or be pampered *hinting at you, GUYS!* 

For this special day, we’ve got a series of soaps which you can make easily for yourself, to gift your friends or even sell. Our first soap in the series, is Love You To Pieces. 

We have two types of bases here, Opaque White and Transparent to get the right color shades we need. Next, we use Dream Angels Heavenly Designer FO which is a clean, sensual perfume that will bring the romantic mood alive. 

Finally the colors. We use a trio here, Sparkle Gold Mica, Ultramarine Pink Mica and Violet mica. It will remind you of jewels and give a very rich royal feel to this soap.. Something every woman definitely wants!  This soap will not only pamper you, but leave your skin feeling great and nourished too.

Ingredients: (makes 350g soap) 

1. 100g SoapLab’s Opaque White Soap Base 
2. 250g SoapLab’s Transparent Soap Base 
3. 20g Dream Angels Heavenly Designer Fragrance Oil  
4. 5g Sparkle Gold Mica
5. 5g Ultramarine Pink Mica 
6. 5g Violet Mica
7. 5g Sparkle Silver Mica 
8. 30g Glycerin
9. 10-20 sprays of Rubbing Alcohol 

Materials:

1. A pair of gloves
2. A weighing scale
3. Microwave / double boiler 
4. A kitchen knife 
5. 3 heat resistant mixing containers
6. 3 spatula 
7. 1 pipette 
8. 2 pieces of foil

Visual Guide  

1. Using a kitchen knife, cut SoapLab’s Opaque White Soap Base into small cubes. The smaller the cube, the faster it will melt.
   
   
   
2. Place cubes into a heat resistant container and melt at 20 seconds interval. Check on soap constantly to avoid soap from getting burn. 
   
   
   
3. Once melted, using a pipette (optional) , add in Dream Angels Heavenly Designer Fragrance Oil into the melted soap. Then, mix everything with a spatula. 
   
   
   
4. Pour out 100g of soap into a heat resistant container. 
   
   
   
5. Add in premixed Sparkle Gold Mica into the mixing container and mix.
   
   
   
6. Pour onto a piece of foil that has been folded on the sides. Leave soap to harden after spraying some rubbing alcohol to remove air bubbles.
   
   
   
7. Once soap has harden, peel off soap from the foil carefully.
   
   
   
8. Bend, curve and roll soap sheet carefully using your hands.
   
   
   
9. With some melted soap and a spatula, join the soap’s ends together. Apply some melted soap onto the joints and press. To patch up some tearing (if any) or imperfections, use the same technique. Leave aside to set.  
   
   
   
10. Pour out 100g of melted soap into a container.
    
    
    
11. Add in Violet Mica that has been diluted with some glycerin into the container and mix. 
    
    
    
12. Hold the soap roll like so. Start to pour melted soap into the soap roll carefully. After pouring, turn and rotate the soap roll to allow melted soap to move & coat the inside of the roll.
    
    
    
13. Repeat steps 10 to 12 by substituting Violet Mica with Peacock Green Mica. Followed by Ultramarine Pink Mica. Leave aside to set.
    
    
    
14. Next, cut SoapLab’s Transparent Soap Base into even tinier cubes. Place them in a zip lock bag
    
    
    
15. Add in Sparkle Silver into the bag. Seal the bag. Shake the bag to coat the cubes with mica. 
    
    
    
16. They will look like this:
    
    
    
17. Wrap one end of the roll with some more foil. 
    
    
    
18. Add in the silver cubes into the rolls until the top.
    
    
    
19. Go ahead and pour some melted transparent soap base into the soap roll until it is full. Leave soap to harden for 12 hours.
    
    
    
20. Once harden, cut soap using a kitchen knife or a soap cutter. 
    
    
    
21. And with that, soap is ready!

Caution!

3. Make sure all your utensils and work surface is clean and sterilise as dirty area and utensils can reduce shelf life of scrub

5. If applying on face, avoid citrus based or sandalwood essential oil as Malaysian weather will cause your skin to be easily sun burnt. Wear sun protection if add these Essential oils.
