If you are a big fan of desserts, this one’s just for you! We will be making the rose and blueberry macaroon soap.
To make the soap, add lye and distilled water to an oil mix. The oil mix contains coconut, olive, castor and palm oil. The oils provide different benefits to the skin. For example, palm oil protects the skin and has an anti aging effect. Olive oil for moisturising, coconut oil for anti inflammation and castor for moisturising too!
Next, add geranium essential oil which reduces inflammation and promotes healthy skin. Almond oil, which moisturises the skin and is good to treat dry skin, is also added.
For a chill and easing smell, add vanilla bean fragrance oil.
Finally, add peach pink mica and titanium dioxide and there you have it! Your very own beautiful dessert soaps. Remember to not take a bite!

- Combine lye flakes with distilled water carefully. Wear gloves & long sleeves to avoid backsplash getting in contact with exposed skin.
- Slowly mix with a whisk until all the lye flakes have dissolved in the distilled water. Solution may become hot, do be cautious.
- To bring lye solution to room temperature, place container in a water bath.
- Next, add in room temperature Lye Water into the mixture. Pour in carefully.
- Next, use a whisk and mix until it reaches thin trace. Timing of this may vary as the faster you mix, the faster solution will saponify and reaches thin trace.
- Once there, add in Peach Pink Mica that has been diluted with Almond Oil.
- Add in Geranium Essential Oil into the mixing container. Mix again to combine oil and mica into the mixture.
- Transfer all of the mixture into a disposable piping bag.
- Spray Silicone Macaroon Mold with rubbing alcohol. Pipe the soap mixture onto the mold. Set aside for 6 hours to allow it to harden.
- Once hardened, peel off soap carefully from the mold. Collect them in a baking tray and set them aside.
- For the “filling”, repeat steps 1 till 7. Once done, add in Vanilla Bean Fragrance Oil.
- Add in Titanium Dioxide Mica that has been mixed with some Almond Oil into the mixture. Mix again.
- Next, pour the mixture into another disposable piping bag.
- Cut of the end of a disposable piping bag. Pipe on some “filling” onto one of the macaroon shell like so, then sandwich it with another macaroon shell. Repeat this step with the whole tray.
- Make other “flavours” of macaroon soap by substituting peach pink mica with violet mica and Geranium Essential Oil with Blueberry Fragrance Oil. Leave soap to cure for 4 weeks, then they are ready to be use (:
