Mini Online Class Soap Making: How To Make Matcha & Orange herbal Soap In Malaysia

Today in our Mini DIY Class Series, we’re making something that looks like dessert but is 100% soap—Matcha Orange Soap! 

Inspired by Asian flavours, this soap is made using SoapLab’s gentle Three Butter Soap Base with green tea extractfor a calming, herbal feel.

The scent is a mix of Vanilla Orange, so it smells fresh and sweet—just nice if you want a relaxing shower after a long day. It’s super easy to make and perfect for those who love clean, aesthetic-looking skincare.

Recipe:

• 1kg SoapLab’s Handmade Three Butter Soap Base (SLS & Paraben-Free)

• 50g Vanilla Orange Fragrance Oil (Phthalate-Free by SoapLab)

• 5g Green Tea Extract

• 5g Saffron Mica

• 2g Jade Green Mica

• 14g Glycerin

• Rubbing Alcohol – to spray

• Silicone Mould

Why I Used What I Used

1. Three Butter Soap Base – A rich and creamy base made from shea, mango & cocoa butter. Very gentle and moisturising.
2. Green Tea Extract – Known in Asian culture for calming irritated skin. Helps cool down and soothe skin, especially in hot weather.
3. Vanilla Orange Fragrance Oil – Fruity and sweet scent, perfect for a refreshing shower. Phthalate-free and safe for all skin types.
4. Mica Colours (Saffron & Jade Green) – To create a matcha dessert-like look, and all SoapLab’s micas are skin-safe and naturally derived.
5. Glycerin – Helps pull moisture to the skin so your skin feels soft, not tight, after using.
6. Rubbing Alcohol – To smooth out the surface and keep the layers clean and bubble-free.

3. Make sure all your utensils and work surface is clean and sterilise as dirty area and utensils can reduce shelf life of scrub

5. If applying on face, avoid citrus based or sandalwood essential oil as Malaysian weather will cause your skin to be easily sun burnt. Wear sun protection if add these Essential oils.
