Mini Online Class: Making Aloe Vera Gel For Sunburn With Green Tea

Hi guys! This week we’re making skincare using SoapLab’s ready-made bases — and today’s one is perfect for our Malaysian weather 🌞

If you’ve been out in the sun too long and your skin feels hot, itchy or red — try this! It’s a quick DIY Soothing Aloe Vera Gel, made using SoapLab’s aloe vera gel base. It absorbs fast, non-sticky, and works great even on sensitive skin.

Just apply it straight after sun exposure, or use it as a daily calming gel. You can also keep it in the fridge for extra cooling effect 🧊

Here’s the recipe (makes 1kg):

• 1kg SoapLab’s Aloe Vera Gel Base
• 1g Bamboo Fresh Fragrance Oil (phthalate-free)
• 1g Green Mica
• 2g Glycerin
• 3g Cucumber Extract
• 2g Green Tea Extract
• Rubbing Alcohol – to spray (optional)
• Container for storage

Why I Used What I Used:

• SoapLab’s Aloe Vera Gel Base – Already contains aloe vera juice & allantoin (from aloe too!), both are really calming for sunburn and irritated skin.
• Cucumber Extract – Cooling and soothing, helps reduce redness.
• Green Tea Extract – Packed with antioxidants, great for protecting the skin and healing.
• Glycerin – Hydrates the skin so it doesn’t peel or flake after sunburn.
• Bamboo Fresh Fragrance Oil – Light refreshing scent to make it feel luxurious.
• Green Mica – Totally optional, just to give a soft spa look!

3. Make sure all your utensils and work surface is clean and sterilise as dirty area and utensils can reduce shelf life of scrub

5. If applying on face, avoid citrus based or sandalwood essential oil as Malaysian weather will cause your skin to be easily sun burnt. Wear sun protection if add these Essential oils.
