Welcome back for the second recipe in our hair care series!
Today we’re going to make another solid shampoo. A little fun fact, over 552 million shampoo bottles are thrown away yearly, and we believe doing every little thing you can to save this planet counts!
Whether it’s not using straws or making your own products or like making your own solid shampoo bar- no plastic packaging required when selling, helps change the world.
This shampoo does everything you’d need a shampoo to do. Gives you great lustrous hair, smell amazing, feel fresh and look gorgeous too.
Our favourite part about this shampoo its the Three Flower fragrance mix - Ylang Ylang, Rose and Jasmine. We also add in Glycerin to ensure your hair is always moisturized which prevents split ends, breakage and frizzy hair :)
Have fun making it!!

- Prepare Solid Shampoo Base. Cut 350g of SoapLab’s Solid Shampoo Base into little cubes, the smaller the cubes the faster it will melt.
- Place container in the microwave. Melt them at 20 seconds interval. Check during each intervals, this is to avoid your shampoo from getting burnt. Shampoo base may also be melted using an induction cooker or double boiler.
- Next, add in Ylang Ylang, Rose & French Jasmine Fragrance Oil into shampoo mixture. You may use a pipette to ease measuring & dispensing. Then mix with a spatula.
- Split mixture into 2 equal parts. In container 1, add in Irredecent Red Mica that has been diluted with glycerin. Then mix again until mica has dispersed evenly throughout the shampoo
- In container 2, add in Violet Mica that has also been diluted with glycerin into the mixing container. Mix, then set aside.
- Next, grab your 6 cavity Silicon Mold and Rubbing Alcohol. Spray the mold with alcohol in order to provide a sterile surface, ideal for your solid shampoo to sit in. Pour in shampoo mixture from container 1 half full in each cavity.
- Pour in shampoo mixture from container 2 into the half filled cavities. Pour the mixture until it reaches the brim.
- Once done, using a pipette, swirl the 2 colours together then spray the top part of the soap with more Rubbing Alcohol to eliminate air bubbles and achieve a smooth surface on the shampoo. Leave shampoo to harden for 12 to 24 hours.
- Once hardened, pull away mold from soap slowly. This is to preserve the crisp and sharp edges of the solid shampoo.
- Once ready, remove soap carefully from the mold one by one.
- Once all of them are out, they are ready to add a little fun in your shower with these solid shampoo (:
