Hot Process Soap: DIY HP Soap (Mango Flavour)

Hi all. Today we will be making hot process soap.

Now if you are not sure what hot process soap is; well it's an extension of cold process soap.
Heres an article i wrote 5 years ago on the different methods to make soap. Hot process soap has the same benefits of cold process soap; only this time you cook the soap instead of waiting it to cure for 4-6 weeks. By cooking it you no longer need to wait for 4-6 weeks to use the soap; you can use it immediately:-)

The last time we did a hot process soap tutorial was in 2016 here. This is our second post of it and its definitely not going to be our last. Throughout this next few days; I'll be showing you different styles of hot process soap that you could make.

The oils we are using in this is the same as our standard cold process soap oils; The coconut, The Palm, The Olive and The Castor oil. Same benefit that will give you a soap that is hard, that give you nice bubble and cleansing and also moisturising.

To 'sweeten' it up a bit; we gave it a name: The magical Mango; and true enough like magic; it smells so heavenly when we added the mango papaya fragrance oil and some colors. Check it out and do make it! and let me know how it goes:-)

  1. Place your distilled water in a heat resistant container, ready to be mix. Wear gloves & long sleeves to avoid backsplash getting in contact with exposed skin.

  2. Carefully, combine lye flakes with distilled water slowly. Mix using a whisk, and set aside.

  3. Turn your crock pot on high. Add in your Oil Mix into the crock pot.

  4. Once everything is melted, add in your Lye Water carefully into the pot.

  5. Using a hand blender, mix and blend the mixture until it reaches this trace. Once there, place the lid on and leave soap for 20 - 30 minutes.

  6. After half an hour, soap will thicken, especially around the edges of the crock pot.

  7. Using a spatula, break them up and mix everything together. Place the lid back on and leave the mixture again for another 20 - 30 minutes.

  8. After another 30 minutes, soap will continue to thicken and appears more transparent.

  9. Again, using a spatula, mix everything around and place the lid back on. Leave for another 20 - 30 minutes until soap has a gel like consistency.

  10. Once there, now the mixture is ready for micas and fragrance oils! Remove pot from the heat and stir the mixture to allow it to cool down slightly.

  11. Add in Mango Papaya Fragrance Oil into the pot.

  12. On one side if the pot, add in Yellow Mica that has been premixed with Sweet Almond Oil and mix. On the other side, add in premixed Sparkle Green Mica, and mix again.

  13. Spray mold with rubbing alcohol. On one side of the mold, add in the green soap mixture.

  14. On the other side of the mold, add in the yellow soap mixture. Tap the mold down  gently and repeat steps 14 & 15 until mold is filled. Leave soap to cool & harden (6-12 hours)

  15. Once soap has harden, remove soap from the mold carefully.

  16. Using a normal kitchen knife, cut soap into desired size
