Cold Proccess Soap Free Recipe: Sireh & Eucalyptus Soap For Post Natal Care

For Local Herbal Week, we’re making something inspired by Malay traditional herbal baths—Sireh & Eucalyptus Herbal Soap! 

In Malay culture, sireh (betel leaf) is often used in herbal baths and postnatal care because it’s believed to help with skin infections, body odor, and overall hygiene. 

Combined with Eucalyptus Spearmint Essential Oil, this soap is perfect for refreshing and cleansing the skin after a long day.

We’re using SoapLab’s cold process oil mix, which gives the soap a rich lather without drying out your skin. The green layers match the fresh, herbal vibes, making this soap look as good as it smells!

Recipe

1. 300g Coconut Oil
2. 300g Olive Oil
3. 300g Palm Oil
4. 100g Castor Oil
5. 144g Sodium Hydroxide
6. 288g Water
7. 50g Chromium Green Mica
8. 50g Eucalyptus Spearmint Essential Oil
9. 5g Sireh Extract
10. Rubbing Alcohol (to spray)
11. Silicone Mould - 1kg

Why I Used What I Used

Sireh Extract – Traditionally used in Malay herbal baths for skin cleansing, reducing body odor, and soothing rashes.

Oil Mix Base (Coconut, Olive, Palm, Castor Oils) – Keeps the soap moisturizing while giving a rich, foamy lather.

Eucalyptus Spearmint Essential Oil – Gives a cooling, refreshing scent that helps with congestion and relaxation.

Chromium Green Mica – Adds a natural herbal look to match the theme.

Rubbing Alcohol – Helps remove bubbles for a smooth soap surface.
