How To Make Cold Process Soap And Use It Faster? Make Hot Process Soap!

Hi. Welcome to the last series of hot process soap this week. And today; we will be making a bit of an ‘advanced’ look as compared to the last few hot process soap we made.

If you are not sure what hot process soap is and want to know more about it; click here, here and here for our last few days post.

Now; since hot process soap is basically adding heat to the cold process soap: its not really suitable for cooking milk and juices as theres chances of it ‘burning’. Milk probably still can as milk can be ‘boiled’ but not fresh juices and yogurt.

When making hot process soap; the whole soap is cooked at around 50 degrees; so juices contains lots of ‘sugar’, which will naturally burn in this temperature.

So because of that; most of the time we do not add any juice into hot process soap. Having said that; its doesn’t mean you cant ‘spice’ up your soaps!

For this recipe we really wanted to add mango into it; but since cant use mango juice; we super-fat the soap using mango butter! Mango butter is a luxurious mango ‘extract’ that comes from the seed of alfanso mango (one the few superior mango available) its very creamy; and ‘hard’. So it will give your soap a nice creamy finishing and a hard soap bar. Do try it out!

In this soap method we also show you how to ‘pipe’ the soap to give it a nicer aesthetic look than the ones we made before.
Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions!

  3. Turn your crock pot on high. Add in your Oil Mix into the crock pot.

  4. Once everything is melted, add in your Lye Water carefully into the pot.

  5. Using a hand blender, mix and blend the mixture until it reaches this trace. Once there, place the lid on and leave soap for 20 - 30 minutes.

  6. After half an hour, soap will thicken, especially around the edges of the crock pot.

  7. Using a spatula, break them up and mix everything together. Place the lid back on and leave the mixture again for another 20 - 30 minutes.

  8. After another 30 minutes, soap will continue to thicken and appears more transparent.

  9. Again, using a spatula, mix everything around and place the lid back on. Leave for another 20 - 30 minutes until soap has a gel like consistency.

  10. Once there, add in Mango Butter.  Remove pot from the heat and stir the mixture to allow it to cool down slightly and at the same time, melting the mango butter.

  14. Sprinkle on some Sparkle Silver Mica into the mold. Tap mold gently and repeat the filling process until mold is full.

  15. In the pot with the remaining soap, add in more Sparkle Silver Mica. Mix and transfer into a disposable piping bag.

  16. Pipe soap according to your design. Once happy, leave soap to harden & cool.
